Rachel Aldrich

I’ve been singing in choirs for my entire adult life, and Masterworks Chorale stands alone amongst them all as an organization that can meld a warm community environment with low-pressure rehearsals—and come out on the other side with the highest-caliber concerts worthy of the historic spaces in which they are performed.

What sets us apart most is the people involved. Each rehearsal feels like a gathering of friends who share a central passion. The community is welcoming and engaged beyond our performances, with opportunities to connect through our Community Sings programs and social gatherings.

But at the core of Masterworks is our shared commitment to excellence. Our repertoire is difficult by nature, but the work never feels taxing. Rehearsals truly are a shared effort.

I always find myself walking away with a big smile on my face and a tune to hum.

Masterworks has something to appeal to nearly every kind of singer: those who are looking for connection; those in search of musical challenge; and those who are simply looking to make beautiful art with like-minded people. I’m honored to be a small part of its history.
