Messiah Sings, Reimagined: December 2020
Beginning in 1962, the Masterworks Chorale has presented Messiah Sings every year without fail. At 58 years, ours is probably the oldest continuously running Messiah Sing in the United States, an honor due in large part to our loyal audience. This year, you can still be a part of this beloved tradition from the comfort of your own home.
On Saturday, December 19, at 7:30 pm, please join our Music Director, Dr. Kevin Leong, on a guided listening tour of the choruses from the Christmas portion of Messiah and, of course, the Hallelujah Chorus. The choral movements of Messiah exhibit the full breadth of Handel’s dazzling compositional and dramatic talents. We hope that you will come away from this live presentation with a greater understanding and appreciation of the music you love and love to sing. And you can still sing the choruses during our event! Just use your own score or a digital score that we can provide you.

The pandemic has turned our world upside down, but we hope you and yours are getting through it. We miss rehearsing with each other, collaborating with our world-class soloists and instrumentalists, and—most of all—singing for you! While we will miss seeing you in person for our Messiah Sings this December, we are taking advantage of this time apart to offer you something slightly different that we hope will not only be enjoyable, but will increase your love for this seasonal favorite.
