featuring Bloch’s Sacred Service, Lukas Foss’s Behold, I Build an House and Randall Thompson’s Alleluia.

Join us at Boston’s historic Old South Church for Ernest Bloch’s beautiful Sacred Service, an artistically groundbreaking setting of the Hebrew liturgy for the Sabbath. To honor the 350th anniversary of Old South Church, we will also present Lukas Foss’s majestic Behold, I Build an House and Randall Thompson’s classic Alleluia, both written to commemorate important beginnings in our area—the openings of Boston University’s Marsh Chapel and the Tanglewood Music Center. The concert will feature organist Ross Wood and baritone Ian Pomerantz, a professional singer and scholar of Jewish music.

Soloists
Ian Pomerantz, baritone
Ross Wood, organ
