MOZART REQUIEM

Experience Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s powerful Requiem, in the version completed by
musicologist and keyboardist Robert Levin, and the Boston-Cambridge premiere of Michael
Schachter’s Uriel. A native of Westborough, Schachter composed his setting of Ralph Waldo
Emerson’s poem as a dramatic complement to the Mozart Requiem.

Join us in Boston’s beautiful Old South Church for John Rutter’s exuberant Gloria and other
works by American and British composers for chorus, brass, and organ. The concert features
organist Ross Wood and the music of Henry Purcell, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Hubert Parry,
Charles Villiers Stanford, Randall Thompson, Dominick Argento, and Steven Sametz.

HANDEL JUBILATE

Come hear two glorious works of George Frideric Handel, his Utrecht Jubilate and I Will Magnify
Thee, O God
. A native of Germany who journeyed in Italy before settling in England, Handel was
history’s first truly international composer, and our concert will include music by composers
from those nations: Johann Sebastian Bach, Antonio Lotti, and Henry Purcell. We will be joined
by a period orchestra of some of Boston’s best Baroque instrumentalists.
